Second Harvest Foodbank is celebrating National Dairy Month with its Adopt a Dairy Cow Campaign, which works to supply milk to local foodbanks, WMTV15 reports. The campaign, started in 2015, helps the nonprofit distribute nearly 26,000 gallons of milk to its partner pantries each month.
Interested participants can visit the campaign website to symbolically adopt a dairy cow from Sassy Cow Creamery in Columbus and choose a number of half-gallons of milk to donate. For every $25 donated, Second Harvest can provide partner pantries with 30 half-gallons of milk.
Every donation will be doubled up to the first $100,000 donated. Donors will receive a coupon for a free quart of Sassy Cow’s ice cream.
