A plan to top Langdon Street’s 13-story Roundhouse Apartment building with eight additional floors of apartments has received a cool response from city planners. The Korb family owns the existing property at 626 Langdon St. and wants to add 35 new units to the building’s current 84 units, but the 1960s-era building was called “substandard” by city planner Heather Stouder, who suggested instead that the building be torn down and rebuilt from scratch. That suggestion is “financially infeasible” according to Angela Black, an attorney representing the Korb property. The owners want to begin construction soon and open in August 2015.
