The River Food Pantry will deliver meals and fresh produce in Madison and Fitchburg this month with its new “Munch truck,” NBC15 reports.
The mobile meals program will deliver to underserved neighborhoods from a larger, custom-built vehicle that features a cooler, freezer, heating cabinet, serving window, fresh produce display, digital menu board, and more.
The new truck was funded by the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Foundation, TruStage Foundation, Madison Community Foundation, and private donors.
The Munch program works to help fill the nutrition gap experienced by children when schools are closed. It currently serves 20 distribution locations.
