The Riley Tavern, an iconic bar in an idyllic setting in rural Verona, has been sold. Owners Jim and Katherine Murphy are tired of the Wisconsin winters and after 28 years have reached a deal to sell the business, just off the Military Ridge Bike Path.
The Murphys were reluctant to name the new buyer, saying they’ve had deals fall apart before, according to a Wisconsin State Journal article, but closing is scheduled for Dec. 27.
