Plans have changed for the corner of East Washington Avenue and North First Street, where the city-owned Madison Public Market will eventually be located.

Developers Todd Waller and Steve Doran, who own the Washington Plaza shopping center, now propose adding a hotel, apartments, and commercial development to the busy corner. The Public Market would be moved to the west side of the lot, adjacent to Burr Jones Park, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal.

The Madison Public Market is supposed to open in 2020.
