Research equipment in UW–Madison’s Engineering Centers Building (ECB) was damaged after recent flooding from a broken pipe, according to NBC15. The amount of damage is still being assessed to determine plans for restoration or replacement.
Around 55,000 gallons of water were released last Thursday from a penthouse water pipe that broke. The microfabrication facility directly below the area in which the break occurred sustained the most damage.
Classes in the ECB were canceled on Thursday and relocated on Friday. Classes this week have been relocated to other buildings as well. The ECB also houses around 50 campus researchers.
