Report: Wisconsin near bottom in new business creation

Wisconsin ranks fifth from the bottom in entrepreneurship nationwide, according to a new report by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. The state’s economy created 170 new businesses for every 100,000 adults in 2013 and dropped .08 percentage points compared to 2012. Montana led the country, with 610 companies created per 100,000 adults, while Iowa recorded the fewest new startups, at 110 per 100,000.
