Gov. Tony Evers, together with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC), announced the Wisconsin Trade Data Report showing Wisconsin businesses exported more than $11.5 billion in products around the world from January to June 2021, an 18.41% growth over the same period in 2020. The increase was fueled primarily by industrial machinery sales. The announcement continues an upward trend for the state’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The state’s July unemployment rate — 3.9% — has remained steady since April and is among the lowest in the nation, nearly returning to pre-pandemic levels. Gov. Evers’s office reported that Wisconsin continues to be a leader in vaccination rates and the state is second in the Midwest for the percentage of the population fully vaccinated.
