While some areas such as restaurants and retail stores face continued challenges in finding labor, other sectors such as transportation and warehousing have grown during COVID-19, reflecting the rise of Amazon and online commerce in general. Additionally, the health care sector saw a loss in jobs in the second half of 2021, which may reflect the challenging labor market and the difficulty of attracting and retaining workers in a state with an aging population.
