Center on Wisconsin Strategy (COWS), a research and policy center based at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, has released its first section of the annual State of Working Wisconsin report. The report focuses on how working people are doing and aims to gain insight into the state’s Black-white disparities. The report is being released in four parts: jobs (released Aug. 31), unions (Sept. 1), wages (Sept. 2), and worker experiences (Sept. 3). Analysis by COWS suggests improvements including:
- More predictable schedules;
- Better wages;
- Stronger benefits;
- Improvements to public health;
- Accessible health insurance; and
- Affordable, high-quality care for children.
