A renegotiated deal between the state and Foxconn Technology Group is an $80 million, six-year agreement that will save taxpayers an estimated $2.77 billion, according to a release from the office of Gov. Tony Evers. The state and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. had renegotiated the contract with Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics manufacturer, after the company failed to live up to job creation and other promises. Foxconn is eligible to receive up to $80 million total in performance-based tax credits over six years if Foxconn hires 1,454 qualified workers earning an average wage of $53,875 and invests $672 million by 2026.
