Regulators approve energy rate hikes

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission has approved rate increases for Alliant Energy and Xcel Energy, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. Customers with Alliant Energy will pay 6.2% more for electricity in 2022 and 8.6% more for gas. Xcel Energy customers will pay more than 10% more for electricity next year and 8.4% more for gas. The two companies serve about 25% of the state’s customers.
