East side Madison’s Fiddlesticks, a fiber arts shop operational for two and a half years, has closed but is seeking a new brick-and-mortar space, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. The shop at 1976 Atwood Ave., which primarily sells yarn and tools for knitting and crocheting, closed in late December due to a dispute with its landlord.

Owner Erica Hainz said that the shop had been half a month behind on rent when the landlord gave the business two weeks to clear the premises, threatening a lawsuit otherwise. Three shop employees were laid off.

Fiddlesticks is currently hoping to relocate to the city’s east or north side and is shifting operations online until the business runs out of inventory.
