RCC Sexual Violence Resource Center is moving to an east side Madison building in May amid turmoil at the federal level that is increasing funding worries for victim services, The Capital Times reports. The organization has served the Madison area from its south side location for over 15 years.
Mixed-use development Rise Madison will provide a new home and improved access to public transit for the center at the corner of East Washington and North Fair Oaks avenues. Dana Pellebon, the center’s executive director, said the move will help the center’s services to reach more people.
Among the center’s services are a 24/7 help hotline, mental health therapy, support groups, medical and legal advocacy resources and educational programming. The new location’s community room will host classes and group events as well. A July 28 open house will welcome the community to the new space.
