Claiming similar packaging will confuse consumers, Energizer Brands has sued Middleton-based Spectrum Brands Holdings, parent of Rayovac, for trademark infringement, charging that Rayovac’s new battery packaging mimics that of Energizer’s.
Spectrum Brands is reviewing the case, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Energizer sued another competitor, Duracell, in early 2016 after Duracell dared to used a pink bunny on its battery packaging.
Energizer maintains it has a federally registered trademark on its pink “Energizer Bunny.”

That case is still in court.
