Raven co-founder Brian Raffel is leaving the nest after 36 years of leading the video game company.
Raffel formed the company with his brother Steve and worked on some of the most lauded and best-selling games in the video game industry, including the Call of Duy series.
Other games include Hexen, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and X-Men Legends.
“His commitment to building games out of Madison, Wis., has grown his home city into a strong hub for game developers and studios,” a Raven statement said. “Under his wing, Raven’s doors have remained open to the next generation of developers, offering a firsthand glimpse into what is possible.”
Raffel, also a University of Wisconsin-Madison alumnus, posted on LinkedIn that “It’s hard to put into words what this journey has meant to me. From those early days building Raven to becoming the first studio acquired by Activision, I’m grateful for the people, the culture and the games we created together.”
