Radio Shack closing 1,100 stores

Fort Worth, Texas-based Radio Shack announced it will close about a quarter of its stores in an effort to cut costs after losing $191.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2013. Company officials said about 1,100 stores would be closed nationwide, leaving 3,000 stores remaining as well as 900 franchise locations. There was no word yet as to where the closings will occur. Madison has five Radio Shack locations, and Milwaukee has more than two-dozen.
