After suspending racing for a year due to COVID-19 precautions in Dane County, Madison International Speedway will open the 2021 season on Sunday, May 9, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. Beginning at 2 p.m. that day, the half-mile asphalt oval, located in Rutland, will host the Joe Shear Classic, a 200-lap event for the super late model ARCA Midwest Tour. The regular Friday racing program, including the late model division, will begin May 14.
