Madison-based Quincy Bioscience has been targeted in a consumer fraud class-action lawsuit.
The company produces Prevagen, an over-the-counter supplement that claims to improve brain function and clarity, but the lawsuit disputes those claims.
In a separate case last month, the Federal Trade Commission and the New York attorney general asked for a ban on Prevagen sales in that state. In 2012, some of Quincy’s marketing practices were also called into question.
Quincy Bioscience officials are vehemently defending their product and its supporting research, according to a story in The Capital Times.
