On a 17–3 vote, the City Council approved a $360 million capital budget, the largest in city history, and with that the city’s plan for a public market moved forward and could be designed next year.

Renovations to the Madison Municipal Building will also go on as planned. The city’s operating budget will be discussed in a separate meeting.
