The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin last Thursday approved plans for a 118-megawatt project in Iowa and Grant counties roughly an hour west of Madison, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.

The Badger Hollow Wind Energy Center will be the state’s first approved wind farm in 14 years.

The wind farm will include almost 20 wind turbines on around 28 acres of land west of Dodgeville and Mineral point and aims to bring environmental, economic and health benefits.

Construction on the project is anticipated to begin next summer, with an estimated completion date in late 2027.
