Ascendant Holdings Real Estate, developer of a proposed boutique hotel at the top of State Street, has purchased two additional properties over the last six months, at 124 and 126 State St., allowing for more hotel rooms and a better opportunity to incorporate original exterior façades and interior walls and elements into the hotel’s design.

The company had already purchased 118 and 122 State St. The size of the $40 million hotel would increase from 115 to 130 rooms as a result, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Oregon-based Provenance Hotels would operate the hotel in partnership with Central Properties of Madison.

Ground-level retail and a fifth floor outdoor terrace are also included in the proposal, but parking remains an issue and is being discussed, including valet options.
