Oakwood Village is proposing a new nursing home at its west side location to replace an existing one there, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal. The largest retirement living organization in Madison is preparing to present the plans to Madison’s Urban Design Commission next week, replacing a previously-proposed $240 million plan to add independent-living apartments and eliminate subsidized units for people with low incomes.
The new proposal calls for a 60-bed, three-floor nursing home, with physical and occupational therapy space on Oakwood’s University Woods campus on Mineral Point Road. The current 70-bed Hebron Oaks facility would be demolished.
