The Food and Drug Administration authorized the use of a lab tool made by Fitchburg-based Promega Corp. as part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 testing protocol for emergency use, according to a Wisconsin State Journalreport.
Globally, Promega now supports 29 different COVID-19 test kits and supplies tools to about 610 clinical labs. The reagents the company provides have enabled the testing of 333 million samples.
