Rick Chandler, secretary of the state Department of Revenue, will speak on recent changes in Wisconsin’s tax climate at the Wednesday, April 18, meeting of the Wisconsin Innovation Network’s Northeast Wisconsin chapter. The event will be held at the D.J. Bordini Center, 5 Systems Drive, near the Fox Valley Technical College campus in Appleton. Registration and networking begin at 4:45 p.m.
Chandler will discuss the state’s new manufacturing and agricultural tax credits, changes in capital gains tax laws and other recent tax reforms. Speaking at the April 10 meeting of the Wisconsin Technology Council, Chandler said Wisconsin “has moved to a point where we can say we have one of the best tax climates in the country” for business attraction and growth.

Before being appointed revenue secretary under Gov. Scott Walker, Chandler served in similar roles under governors Tommy Thompson and Scott McCallum, and has worked as a lawyer and consultant in private practice. He is a graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton.
