In response to a feasibility study, the U.S. Postal Service is proposing that staff at Madison’s Milwaukee Street processing center be cut by 54 and mail handling moved to Milwaukee. Meanwhile, Milwaukee would gain 24 clerk and handler jobs. Fourteen supervisors would also be added, resulting in a net loss of 16 non-management jobs.
A public hearing on the proposed changes is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. on May 29 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
