Italian restaurant Porta Bella announced on social media that it will be closing on Feb. 28 after 58 years of homemade Italian food.
“We will deeply miss all of the customers that we have come to know over the years and hearing how our restaurant has become a part of their family traditions,” the statement said. “Many customers have celebrated their wedding, anniversaries and engagements since we opened the restaurant in 1968.”
Both owners Ed Shinnick and Wally Borowski thanked current and former employees for making the restaurant a success.
While the post didn’t say why it was closing, a report from the Wisconsin State Journal said the restaurant may be demolished for high-rise apartments.
