According to a Wisconsin Public Radio report, the residents of Port Washington are enduring 24-hour construction cycles at the Vantage Data Centers Lighthouse Campus.

Residents are now petitioning the city to limit the 24-hour work, which had recently been limited to 12-hour cycles.

However, the city approved the new nonstop work on weekdays.

“We call our neighborhood the land of the midnight sun now because the hundreds of extremely bright work lights that they have shine in our windows 24 hours a day,” Kim Tydrick, who lives under a mile from the construction site, told the outlet. “We (also) have incessant backup beeping, which we were assured we would never hear by the mayor of Port Washington.”

The Port Washington Planning Commission will discuss the issue next week and decide whether or not to take action.
