Monona police are seeking the public’s health in identifying two men they say are “persons of interest” in an attempted homicide at a liquor store last month, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Officers responded to O’Connell’s Lakeside Liquor in the 6300 block of Monona Drive on Dec. 20 just before 6 p.m. for a shooting that injured a 17-year-old. The suspects fled in a stolen Tesla rental car and crashed into another vehicle in the parking lot, causing one occupant minor injuries.

The stolen Tesla was located the next morning on Madison’s near east side. A separate, drug-related investigation emerged from the shooting as well.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Monona police at 608-222-0463 or provide an anonymous tip.
