Following an in-depth review, the Pleasant Prairie Village Board has voted unanimously Monday night to reject a $3.5 million U.S. Economic Development Administration grant that was awarded to help fund the creation of a biomedical business incubation center, according to a report in the Kenosha News.
The village, citing the conclusions of a feasibility and market review, determined that it would not be in the best interests of the village or the EDA to go ahead with the project. The grant award was announced in August of 2010.
Village President John Steinbrink told the Kenosha News that the risk involved with the project “was beyond our comfort level.”
