Kohler Company said a plant closing in Arkansas will enable it to create 30 new jobs at it facility in Kohler, Wis., according to a report in the Sheboygan Press.

The company announced a consolidation plan to close one of its two Arkansas faucet-manufacturing plants and move a portion of the work to the Kohler facility. Under the consolidation, which Kohler linked to the nation’s prolonged housing slump, the company will close its plant in Malvern, Ark., shifting work to both Kohler and its plant in Sheridan, Ark.

According to company officials, the majority of the Malvern plant’s 80 employees would be offered work at the Sheridan factory, which Kohler has owned since 1990.
