Veridian Homes’ proposed Reiland Grove neighborhood on Madison’s far east side would bring more than 500 new residences to the city, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
Over 10-15 years, plans would see the construction of 264 single-family homes, 224 twin homes and 60 townhouses, along with new roads, stormwater ponds and two parks on roughly 150 acres of farmland between Felland and Reiner road near the Highway 39/I-90 interchange.
The city’s 2009 Northeast Neighborhood Development Plan calls for both residential development and parkland within the proposed subdivision’s boundaries, and south of the Veridian site, it recommends a wider variety of housing types. The surrounding area remains largely undeveloped, however.
Multifamily and commercial development eventually may be proposed between the neighborhood and the intersection of Reiner Road and Commercial Avenue.
