An existing two-story commercial building at the corner of Williamson and Blount streets could soon be razed in favor of a 54-unit, six-story apartment complex that has been approved by the Madison Plan Commission on a 5-3 vote. Despite neighborhood objections, the commission cleared the proposed Rifken Group project, which would also include about 7,500 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor.
