The Madison Plan Commission approved a mixed-use development to be located in UW Research Park, according to a report from The Capital Times. The unanimously approved 400,000-square-foot development, at 421 Charmany Drive on Madison’s west side, will include a six-story, 178-unit apartment building consisting of 91 one-bedroom units, 39 two-bedrooms, 39 studios, and nine three-bedroom units constructed over two levels of underground parking. The proposal also features plans for a hotel and 125,000 square feet of laboratory and office space as well as a food hall, rooftop bar, and fitness center. The apartment and lab spaces of the project are expected to break ground this fall.
