Anticipating higher business and consumer spending in the second half of 2017, Placon Corp. says it will hire 130 additional workers, including at least 72 in Greater Madison, by year’s end.
Placon Chairman and CEO Dan Mohs told the Wisconsin State Journal the new hires are not meant to accommodate a temporary spike in the plastic packaging business but are needed to fulfill strong customer orders.
The Fitchburgh-based company says some of the new hires workers will work at its facilities in Elkhart, Ind., Plymouth, Minn., and West Springfield, Mass.
