Pizza restaurant launches initiatives to encourage voting

Ian’s Pizza By the Slice in Madison is recognizing election day with a variety of activities to encourage staff and customers to get out and vote. The program, “Mac the Vote,” will include the closure of all three Ian’s Pizza locations until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 to allow employees plenty of time to get to the polls without interference from other duties. The business is also encouraging staff to dedicate some of their time to working at a poll site, and delivery drivers will be dropping off 20-inch mac ’n’ cheese pizzas to some polling places for volunteers staffing the registration tables.
