On April 16, the In Business Madison Real Estate & Construction Symposium brought together industry professionals to discuss trends in commercial real estate, development and construction as well as offer insight into the challenges and opportunities specific to Wisconsin’s Capital Region.
The audience heard from Anne Neujahr Morrison and Sarah Neujahr, principals of New Year Investments, in a keynote conversation with IB Editor-in-Chief Katie Dean that covered their background growing up in the industry with the company their father founded, along with current work such as the Triangle project.
Following that, a panel discussion featured Jeff Whipple, vice president, Interstate Partners; Paul Muench, associate director, University Research Park; Erica Mullins, executive vice president | principal, Strang; and Kevin Ramakrishna, shareholder, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. Moderated by Chris Caulum, vice president of commercial brokerage at Oakbrook Corp., the panel touched on topics ranging from startups and the building market, including life sciences and technology businesses; housing and housing shortages; market trends in industrial spaces; how people in the industry are using AI; and much more.
