Monona-based Phoenix Labs has received a one-year, $3 million contract to upgrade a neutron imaging system it built for the U.S. Army in 2013. Using neutron radiography that can penetrate high-density metals, the upgraded imaging system will be faster and emit better images, which are used when inspecting ammunition and other defense tools.
