Pellitteri Waste Systems Inc. — an independent, family-owned and operated waste and recycling service provider — announced that residents can now recycle empty pizza boxes, even with residue, using their bins or dumpsters.

Whole pizza boxes are the latest addition to Pellitteri’s expanded list of recyclables, which includes materials beyond the requirements of state law, such as:

  • Hot and cold paper cups;

  • Paper milk and juice cartons;

  • Metal pots and pans;

  • Shredded paper properly prepared in clear plastic bags (of limited size);

  • Small metal appliances like toasters and blenders (of limited size); and

  • Small metal plumbing fixtures, faucets, and valves.

When recycling pizza boxes, remove any remaining food, tissue, or plastic centerpieces from the box. Pellitteri’s mobile app provides additional information regarding recyclable items, as well as collection day reminders.
