Madison-based Psychological Addiction Services (PAS), which provides resources to those battling addiction and serves those in need of medical care in the area’s rural communities, has been on the road for just over one year, WMTV15 reports. The organization’s Mobile Medicated Assisted Treatment Unit has served around 53 patients.
The unit makes daily trips from Madison to Baraboo and Portage, providing methadone and suboxone, medications used to treat drug addictions and symptoms. It is provided to PAS through state grants and helps increase access to resources across the region. The organization’s goal is to ultimately construct a brick-and-mortar space serving rural populations and obtain a second mobile unit through state grants.
