Parking fees on the rise

The City Council approved an increase to most downtown parking meter rates by as much as 25 cents to $2 per hour, effective June 1; residential parking permits will increase $7 to $28 per year effective Sept. 1.

The move is expected to generate $320,500 in annual revenue.
