Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced his endorsement of state Sen. Melissa Agard to be his successor, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. The key endorsement comes as Agard continues to garner the support of several other elected officials.
In the county executive race, Agard is opposed by Madison Ald. Regina Vidaver, 5th District. All candidates will go to an Aug. 13 primary, and the top two will then face off in a general election on Nov. 5. Parisi will retire in May, and an interim county executive will be appointed by the County Board chair.
