Gluten-free business Paleo Mama Bakery is set to move into the Park Street building that formerly housed Barriques coffee and wine shop, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. Paleo Mama opened a decade ago in a shared west side Madison kitchen space, and its baked goods are currently sold in roughly 20 stores, cafes, and restaurants.
The bakery has been located at 409 S. Few St. for five years and now needs additional space. The business reportedly is around half wholesale and half retail. The 961 S. Park St. location is planned to open by Valentine’s Day. About 75% of the building will be used for production. The shop will also include a retail area with a bakery case, but no tables.
The business currently employs three workers but plans to hire more as the expansion takes shape.
