New York-based American Packaging Corp. (APC) announced it will spend $50 million on the first phase of a new satellite facility in the Village of DeForest.
The expansion, on a 26.3-acre parcel of land pre-certified as development-ready through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., is scheduled to be completed in 2017 and create more than 60 new jobs, and as many as 300 over the next 10 years.
The company also has an operation in Columbus.
WEDC authorized up to $750,000 in state tax credits over a five-year period to support APC’s expansion, although the exact number of credits will depend on the number of actual jobs created.
The village is supporting the effort with subsidized land, infrastructure, and other incentives.
