The managing partner of Milwaukee’s Five O’Clock Steakhouse was indicted earlier this week on charges of sex trafficking a minor and producing child pornography, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Stelio Kalkounos, 51, the restaurant’s principal owner, was arrested in Florida and ultimately indicted by a grand jury in U.S. District Court in Madison.
The indictment alleges that Kalkounos recruited or enticed a minor to engage in commercial sex acts between July 16 and March 1, and that he used a minor to create child pornography on Nov. 20.
While the indictment does not include the location at which the alleged crimes took place, a document in the online case files suggests they occurred in Dane County. No details are given regarding the minor, a girl referred to as “Jane Doe.”
The indictment is not Kalkounos’ first for a federal child sex crime. He was convicted in U.S. District Court in Milwaukee in 2006 of coercion or enticement of a minor. A nearly four-year prison sentence followed, but a judge ruled later that as of 2020, he was no longer required to be listed on the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
If convicted, Kalkounos faces a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison for the sex trafficking charge, as well as a minimum of 25 years and maximum of 50 years in prison for the child pornography production charge.
Five O’Clock Steakhouse was founded in 1946 as Coerper’s Five O’Clock Club and purchased by the Kalkounos family in 2004. Kalkounos became the owner in 2017. The restaurant is consistently listed among the best steakhouses in Milwaukee.
