Sam Brown, vice president of the Rocky Rococo’s pizza chain and the owner of Regent Street’s Fabiola’s restaurant and Leopold’s Books Bar Caffe, is buying the nearby Greenbush Bar, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Brown says he is not making any “dramatic changes” to the space, and the deal with the restaurant’s current owner, Anna Alberici, will be completed in a week or two.

Alberici, 72, opened Greenbush Bar in the Italian Workmen’s Club, which owns the building, in 1993. She closed the business on Saturday. She also owned The Wild Iris Cafe on Regent Street from 1990–2001.

Brown plans to keep Greenbush Bar’s name when he reopens the basement restaurant in August and continue offering the same pizza through extended hours. Managing partner Adam Benedetto, who also will have a share of the ownership, will oversee the reopening. Brown says operating hours will start at four days per week and eventually expand to five or six.
