Churchkey Bar and Grill, located near the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, will not close as reported on its own website and social media, according to the Wisconsin State Journal

The bar closed in late May for a full-scale renovation after UW-Madison’s graduation weekend, and owners Jongyean Lee and Hyungirl Lee said the plan is to reopen ahead of the first Badgers football game Aug. 28.

The couple also owns Vineyard Liquor in the building, and it remains open during the renovations.

While Churchkey’s name will remain the same, the bathrooms, bar and floor will be redone, and the removal of a corner office in the front of the building will aim to give the interior a more open feel.

The Lees also own Riley’s Wines of the World, Badger Liquor, Samba Brazilian Grill and the building that was Brickhouse BBQ and is now Chasers 2.0.
