Overture Center for the Arts was recently certified as a sensory inclusive space by KultureCity, according to WMTV15. It’s one of three certified spaces in the Madison area.
KultureCity promotes sensory inclusivity in public venues. Overture is Wisconsin’s only certified performing arts center, and its 500 staff members have reportedly all successfully completed the related training process.
Overture has incorporated new “accessibility hubs” on the main and lower levels. These kiosks allow guests with sensory processing challenges to sign out tools that enhance their Overture visit. The tools have been available previously but will be newly displayed. Overture also includes audio descriptors and ASL translators for its performances.
