The Overture Center for the Arts announced several upcoming shows including Nat Geo Live, Leanne Morgan, Mike Birbiglia, and a Día de Los Muertos event. National Geographic Egyptologist and author Kara Cooney will share her knowledge of powerful women in history with When Women Ruled the World on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m., in the Capitol Theatre. Comedian Leanne Morgan’s “southern charm and hilarious storytelling” comes to Madison on March 4 with tickets on sale Friday, Oct. 29. Another comedian, Mike Birbiglia will perform Saturday, Nov. 6 with shows at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Overture will also host Día de Los Muertos: Community Altar Project in the Rotunda Gallery from Thursday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Nov. 14. The show features handmade shadow box altars made in memory of loved ones. Alter creators will share stories to honor their ancestors and loved ones on Monday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. in the Rotunda Gallery. All people entering Overture Center must wear a face mask and must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours along with a photo ID.
