In the three weeks since launching its literary services in Sauk County, the Madison Reading Project is reporting that over 740 kids have enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The program provides one free book a month for children.
“We’re thrilled that nearly 750 children are already enrolled and on their way to building their personal home libraries with books they love,” Sarah Burke, Madison Reading Project’s early literacy coordinator, said in a statement. “With support from Roots & Wings Foundation, we’re able to offer the Imagination Library Program to build a strong foundation for young children’s access to literacy.”
Since 2021, the Madison Reading Project has administered the Imagination Library in Dane County, serving more than 13,500 children annually. About 3,500 children in Sauk County could be enrolled.
